Frequently Asked Questions

Teen Lifeline invested in the creation of a new Teen Suicide Prevention Specialty License Plate to raise awareness of teen suicide prevention and Teen Lifeline as a critical resource for preventing teen suicide in Arizona (especially as our services continue to be available on a wider scale statewide).

Plus, Teen Lifeline will receive a portion of the fee that every registered Arizona motorist pays to purchase this new license plate to help offset the operating costs of providing our essential life-saving prevention and training services.

As a teen-to-teen organization, Teen Lifeline included Arizona’s teens in the creation of our specialty license plate. In 2024, we held a license plate design contest amongst high school and middle school students statewide; the final design of our specialty license plate is based on the winning contest design by Trevor Owens, senior at Show Low High School.

Teal and purple are the official colors of suicide prevention awareness and Teen Suicide Prevention Awareness Month (TSPA), recognized every September in Arizona. The two-tone ribbon featured on the plate is the Suicide Awareness Ribbon, which symbolizes hope, solidarity, and support for those affected by suicide. Displaying the Teen Suicide Awareness Specialty Plate on your car is a way to show your support for suicide prevention awareness and encourage people to reach out when they need help.

The Teen Suicide Prevention License Plate will cost $25 when it becomes available.

Teen Lifeline will receive $17 for each license plate purchased and you can claim the $17 as a tax-deductible charitable donation.
