National Telephone Day

Call/text the teens in your life this National Telephone Day

Whether it’s through calls, texts, video calls, or DMs, phones give us so many ways to connect with those we love. On Thursday, April 25, Teen Lifeline challenges anyone who has a teen in their life to call or text them to check in on how they’re doing and let them know you care.

Below, we’ve included some easy, quick messages you can use to check in with a loved one. We’ve also included some graphics you can use to spread the word on social media!

Use your phone to connect with your teen

There are many different ways we can use phones as a tool for connection! Check out our latest blog post to learn more.

Texts to check in with your loved ones:

  • Just checking in, how are you doing?
  • Thinking about you today—how’s it going?
  • How’s school going? Are you feeling good about finals or do you need some support?
  • Haven’t talked in a while and wanted to say hi!
  • I hope you’re having a great week!
  • How was your day?
  • No need to respond, but just wanted to say hey!
  • I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately. How have you been?

Celebrate National Telephone Day with a donation to the hotline!

Every year, calls and texts to the hotline spike between spring break and the end of the school year. You can help—your donation can fund one of the life-saving calls/texts teens are sending to the hotline right now!

By donating $100 you’ll fund a hotline text conversation. Texts to the hotline have more than doubled in the last three years, when we first implemented our extended texting hours.

By donating $250 you’ll fund a hotline call. 1 in 3 calls is from a teen considering suicide.
